Maruti Suzuki acquired 600 more acres in Gujarat. It is 40 km away from the site at Mehsana where Maruti will invest Rs. 4000 cr. The plant is likely to come up in 2015-16. The component manufacturers will also have an equal amount of Rs. 4000 cr. investment.

It says workers have to 400 metres and stand in queue to get the food and eat and come back to work in 30 minutes. Going 800 metres itself may take 10 minutes. Whenever such instances are pointed out, there is a need to demonstrate the feasibility and comfort. Industrial engineers and ergonomics professionals need to be involved to make scientific assessments and it is necessary that the concerned professionals demonstrate that the target is feasible in normal working conditions.
